Cameroon mine owner visits the factory

The owner of a gold mine in Cameroon visited our factory in person and ordered 30 HOWO dump trucks, and was satisfied with the quality of the build. A mine owner buying for their own operation is a different kind of visitor from a trading intermediary — they are the one who will be running these trucks day to day, so the questions during the visit tend to be about durability and uptime rather than price alone.

Mining buyers tend to arrive with a fixed haul profile rather than a model number in mind: tonnage per run, the gradient between the pit and the stockpile, and what the road surface actually is rather than what it is supposed to be. Sizing the axle rating and the tipper body to that profile — not just picking the biggest available chassis — is the part worth getting right before the order is placed, because a truck built heavier than the haul actually requires wastes fuel and payload for no benefit.

Seeing the production line in person lets an owner-operator check the same things a fleet manager would: whether the welding and assembly are consistent across units, not just on the one sample truck kept for demonstrations, and whether the factory has the capacity to support a 30-unit order on the schedule it quoted. Thirty identical trucks going to one mine site also means spare parts commonality matters from day one, not as an afterthought once something breaks.

Gold mining in particular tends to run trucks hard and continuously once a pit is in production, with tipping cycles repeated for as long as daylight and the pit face allow. That is the kind of duty cycle the 6×4 configuration and its rear axle rating are meant for, rather than occasional or seasonal haulage.
