22 HOWO dump trucks shipped to Douala, Cameroon
A 22-unit order of HOWO 6×4 dump trucks, built to national second emission standard with 290–371 HP and 16-tonne rear axles, shipped to Douala.
Twenty-two HOWO 6×4 dump trucks left our yard for Douala, the main port serving Cameroon, on a single order. Every chassis was built to the national second emission standard, with engines rated between 290 and 371 HP and 16-tonne rear axles, and each unit went out riding on brand new tyres. Twenty-two identical trucks on one bill of lading is a straightforward build once the specification is fixed — the work is in getting that specification right before production starts, not after.
Douala is Cameroon's principal deep-water port and handles the bulk of the country's import traffic, including the plant and equipment feeding inland construction and mining sites. Landlocked neighbours further into Central Africa also route cargo through it, which is one reason dump trucks specified for this market tend to be built heavier than the same model sold for shorter, better-paved routes closer to a coastal city.
National II diesel engines remain the practical choice for markets where fuel quality is inconsistent and the service network is still built around older engine technology — a higher-standard engine can be harder to keep running reliably once it is out of reach of an authorised workshop. Pairing that engine range with a 16-tonne rear axle gives the truck the load-carrying margin that tipper work on unpaved or partially paved routes normally needs, where the axle is loaded near its rated limit on every cycle rather than occasionally.
A fleet order of this size is quoted the same way a single truck is — same specification sheet, same inspection before loading. What changes is production scheduling and vessel booking: building twenty-two units to one configuration takes coordinated line time, and loading them together means booking enough deck or hold space on a single sailing rather than spreading the shipment across several vessels.
Buyers placing dump truck orders for municipal and construction work in Central Africa often come back for the rest of the fleet once the tipper side is running. Our garbage compactor trucks are built on the same class of chassis in body volumes from 4 to 20 m³, and our water tank trucks cover 7,000 to 20,000 litres — both quoted and inspected the same way as the tipper order above.
