7 HOWO dump trucks exported to Nigeria
A seven-unit HOWO dump truck order built and loaded for export to Nigeria.
Seven HOWO dump trucks were built and loaded for export to Nigeria. It is a smaller order than some of the batches we ship to other West and Central African customers, and it is handled exactly the same way: one specification sheet, one production run, one inspection before the units go up the ramp for loading, regardless of whether the order is for seven trucks or thirty.
Nigeria is one of the largest markets in West Africa for imported heavy trucks, and dump trucks bought for it typically end up on construction, quarry or haulage work rather than long highway runs. Buyers in this market usually specify the HOWO 6×4 platform for the same reasons it is popular across the region: parts availability, a wide network of independent mechanics already familiar with the driveline, and a rear axle rating that holds up under repeated full-load tipping cycles.
The HOWO 6×4 platform we build on across our range is rated for a 25-tonne gross vehicle weight, with a turbocharged in-line six-cylinder diesel producing up to 380 hp and a 12-speed manual transmission — the same class of driveline and axle used under our compactor and tanker bodies. That shared platform is also why parts commonality matters to fleet buyers: a workshop stocking parts for one HOWO-based vehicle in the yard can usually service several.
Getting a dump truck order onto a vessel is largely a documentation exercise once the trucks themselves are ready: chassis and engine numbers checked against the packing list, a pre-shipment inspection to catch anything that would need fixing at the destination instead of in the yard, then loading — either driven up the ramp for roll-on/roll-off vessels or lifted aboard by crane, depending on what space the shipping line has booked.
Fleet buyers who add dump trucks to a construction or haulage operation in Nigeria often need waste handling on the same sites, and our garbage compactor trucks are built on that same HOWO 6×4 chassis family, in body volumes from 4 to 20 m³, so a workshop already stocking chassis parts for the dump trucks can support the compactor fleet too.
